STORY OR INSPIRATION Glad To Be Unhappy is one of my favorite pieces. You can probably tell, because I put it on everything:) Most of my work is inspired by music of some sort. Sometimes the music comes first, sometimes the painting comes first. In this instance, the painting came first. Working on this piece was extremely organic- with only the colors and the act of creating it in my mind I wasn't really sure what direction it was going to go...and I love the way it turned it out. It gives me the feeling of a time in my life when things seemed complicated, but they really weren't...the same feeling that Frank Sinatra's music inspires...
